I tried my hand at junking my pumpkin for Holli Congers contest. I thought that I would be able to turn out a pumpkin as cute as hers-WRONG! It was fun trying.

Trick or treat - smell my feet! This is a drawing from the archive, I cant remember if I've posted it for IF before, if I have sorry. I thought that it seemed like a pretty good fit for this weeks topic.

I will be working at my younger sons Harvest Festival this evening where I'm sure that there will be plenty of candy. How do parents know that their kids are growing up? When you can't make off with the chocolate as easily as the previous year.

I told myself no matter what, I would draw something for this weeks word. My two boys have been out of school for the last month, but with playdates, basketball clinics and swimming - it seems like I'm still waiting for the vacation in summer vacation to start!

I am lucky to have all of these things pretty much just out my back door or just a short drive away. I am very appreciative of my opportunity to live with my family in these surroundings. A trip to the city is always exciting, but theres no place like home.

Illustration Friday- Neighbors

This is a painting I did from a picture that I took down on Pier 49 at Fishermans Wharf. When this picture was taken, there were roughly 15-20 sea lions on a raft. The sea lions always draw a big crowd. The lions are fun to watch and are always a highlight of a trip down to San Francisco.

I figured this could tie in with this weeks word of "Neighbor". Have a great week, thanks for looking.

I have been having fun working on terra cotta pots for different occasions. The two to the right were for Christmas and the far left was a Congratulations for a new baby. The design on the left of the baby is mine; the other two are from a vintage produce label book. More to come!

Illustration Friday- I Spy.......

...a mermaid! This weeks topic was fun, lots of leeway- I always like that. I am actually going to use this image for some pots that I am working on for a spring art festival next month. I'm decoupaging the designs onto brightly painted terra cotta pots and using acrylic pens and glitter to complete the designs. I also may use this in my card shop. If you haven't checked out the Greeting Card Universe yet, I would say that you should. Pay is fifty cents a card and you keep copyright. What the heck, take a look. Suzie and her doll were totally ready for Easter. "Just wait Cindy Lou, this will be the year that we catch the Easter Bunny as he comes to hide our baskets. He'll see our ears and make us his Junior Bunny Deputies! Ha! Won't that be great? We'll get to help him deliver eggs! I'll volunteer to take Pattie Scott's house, that definitely will not be an egg that I leave for her!"

We are having a treat of beautiful weather here in the Sierra Nevada foothills. I believe we were in the eighties today. It seems like we haven't really had winter this year. All of you in the snowy weather, take heart, spring is close enough to touch.

Illustration Friday - Hide

Okay, this is an illustration that I have posted before, but I think that it ties into the theme. Think about it, the Easter Bunny hides eggs. The tooth fairy finds teeth that children hide under their pillows.
So, I feel that it is necessary to confess to my computer ineptness. I did have a blog called Colorspotz for almost a year. I tried switching over my Blog account from the old blogger to the new blogger accounts and somehow deleted my blog! True, it was disappointing, but here I am back with a new look.
